The Third event in the Toon Cricket series, TC 2002 took place
on February 10 & 24 in Chennai & Mumbai respectively with
two shows at the JN Indoor Stadium in Chennai & one at the
Andheri Sports Complex in Mumbai. TC 2002 was sponsored by
Pepsi & Co-sponsored by Joyco Solano, BSA, Colgate, Act 2
Popcorn, Cadbury's Gems, Arun Ice Cream (Chennai only) and
Boost. A unique cricket match, played in a fully "toonised"
environment, Toon Cricket 2002 was fully scripted & choreographed
ball-by-ball, interspersed with loads of toon gimmicks characteristic
to the essence of each of the Toon Stars - Tom, Jerry, Fred
Flintsone, Dino, Scooby Doo, Popeye & Olive - who played with
8 of their special friends.
The show featured live cricket commentory, audience hosts,
umpires, cheerleaders and club cricketers. The Powerpuff Girls
of Townsville made a special appearance to fight their enemy
Mojo Jojo in a battle between the two innings to save the
match. SEVENTY conceptualised & executed all on-ground elements
of the event including scripts, talent sourcing, choreography,
direction, technical planning, pre-event promotions - leaflet
& poster distribution, school contact programme, the Toon
mobile road-show and ticket distribution.
Testimonial
"Toon Cricket was most definitely a job very well done. From
start to finish, I was sitting at the edge of my seat absorbing
the excitement amongst the crowds, staff, colleagues and talents.
The script was definately an A+ and the crowd that reached
the figure of approx. 45,000 was handled very well by all
the staff and security proving the event to be very well managed.
The finale was the most breathtaking of them all whereby all
the cricketers and toons danced within the circled sponsor
banners to a favourite hindi song from a very popular movie.
Well Done SEVENTY! Very impressive."
